Château Montrose

Our second stop on this Bordeaux wine tour brought us to Château Montrose, a distinguished winery situated in the Saint-Estèphe appellation within the Bordeaux region. Château Montrose holds a prestigious place in the history of Bordeaux wines, being classified as one of the fourteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification.

During our visit to Château Montrose, we had the pleasure of savoring three exceptional vintages from the year 2014, each offering a unique perspective on the winemaking craft:

  1. Chateau Tronquoy-Lalande 2014: This wine, bearing the elegance of Château Montrose's terroir, was a delightful introduction to the region's vinous treasures, showcasing the finesse of this esteemed estate.

  2. La Dame de Montrose 2014: La Dame de Montrose, the second wine of Château Montrose, provided a glimpse into the estate's commitment to producing wines of quality, offering a more accessible yet still sophisticated expression of their terroir.

  3. Chateau Montrose 2014: The flagship offering of Château Montrose in the 2014 vintage undoubtedly demonstrated the winery's dedication to excellence. This wine was a testament to the estate's tradition of crafting wines of great character and longevity.

Our visit to Château Montrose was a journey through Bordeaux's winemaking heritage, where we were treated to the rich complexity of their wines. These vintages exemplified the artistry and commitment of Château Montrose in producing wines of distinction and grace, making it a memorable stop on our wine tour.
