Château Margaux
On the second day of our journey, we had the pleasure of visiting the enchanting Chateau Margaux. We arrived bright and early, greeted by the promise of an incredible day ahead. Our tour of the estate was nothing short of delightful.
One unique aspect we discovered was that Chateau Margaux crafts their own barrels right on the vineyard grounds, boasting a small workshop dedicated to this art. It's a testament to their commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Notably, Chateau Margaux holds the prestigious status of being a first growth vineyard. It's a distinction shared by only five wines, all of which achieved Premier Cru (first growth) status in the renowned Bordeaux Classification of 1855. This heritage and legacy added an extra layer of reverence to our visit.
The pinnacle of our Chateau Margaux experience awaited us in their tasting room. There, they graciously invited us to sample two exceptional wines. The first was the Pavillon Rouge 2010, a wine that immediately captivated our senses. The second was the Chateau Margaux 2006 Premier Grand Cru, a true gem that left an indelible mark on our palates and memories.
