Château de Cérons
We had the pleasure of visiting Château de Cérons, a historic estate with roots dating back to the 18th century, located in the Graves appellation of Bordeaux. Renowned for its Sémillon-based whites and rich, elegant clarets, the château sits amid beautifully maintained vineyards and reflects centuries of winemaking tradition. We enjoyed a guided walk through the grounds and vineyards, learning about the unique soils that contribute to the estate’s distinctive wines.
Next, we explored the cellars, where a charming video was projected onto the walls to share the château’s history and winemaking philosophy. We then visited the estate shop, offering a selection of their wines and products, before arriving at the elegant tasting room—a serene green space designed for an immersive experience.
During the tasting, we sampled a diverse range of wines, including Calvimont Blanc 2024, Château Calvimont 2020, Château de Cérons 2022 and 2021, the estate’s 2022 white, and their exquisite 2020 dessert wine. Each wine highlighted the estate’s signature elegance, balance, and craftsmanship, demonstrating why Château de Cérons has remained a respected name in Bordeaux for centuries.
