Louis Jadot
On October 9th, we had the delightful opportunity to visit Louis Jadot in Beaune, Burgundy. Louis Henri Denis Jadot founded the business in 1859 with a vision to establish a reputation for high-quality wines and to build a significant vineyard base. This vision, centered on crafting top wines and expanding their vineyard holdings, remains integral to the business today.
What stood out the most during our visit was our immersive tour of the domain. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a tour around the impressive vats, where we could peer inside and witness the winemaking process firsthand. Descending into the cellars, we observed as barrels were filled and explored underground tasting rooms adorned with detailed maps of Burgundy, enriching our understanding of the Beaune region.
During our visit, we savored a tasting experience that included over 7 distinct wines, each showcasing the unique terroir and craftsmanship of Louis Jadot. To cap off our memorable visit, we were graciously invited to enjoy lunch upstairs, accompanied by a selection of 3 different wines that complemented our meal perfectly.
