Tasting Note
The 2016 Opus One offers a strikingly elegant bouquet of blackcurrant, blueberry, and rose petal, layered with hints of graphite, cedar, and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is poised and structured, with fine tannins, luminous acidity, and a core of ripe, pure fruit. The finish is long and graceful, leaving notes of dark chocolate and dried herbs.
The 2016 vintage was marked by near-perfect weather conditions. Ample winter rains replenished groundwater, while a mild spring encouraged even flowering and fruit set. A long, warm summer with cool nights ensured slow, balanced ripening, resulting in fruit of exceptional concentration and freshness. Harvest occurred from September 9th to October 25th, yielding wines of remarkable precision and harmony.
