Tasting Note
The 2017 Opus One presents expressive aromas of blackberry, cassis, and black cherry, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, graphite, and subtle spice. The palate is plush and layered, offering rich dark fruit framed by polished tannins and a refined structure. A touch of minerality and bright acidity carries through to a long, harmonious finish.
The 2017 growing season began with abundant rainfall that replenished the soils, followed by a warm spring encouraging early growth. Moderate summer temperatures allowed for steady ripening until a brief heatwave in early September, after which conditions stabilized, preserving balance and freshness. Harvest took place from September 5th to October 7th, yielding concentrated, vibrant fruit with remarkable depth and character.
